I am a member of Caitlin's "Virtual Fitness Boutique" since inception three years ago. During the pandemic, working with Caitlin online contributed to keeping me fit and gave me the pleasure of her company. Although in person fitness options exist, I have continued with Caitlin. She is a special person who is a creative and competent fitness instructor and a friend I want to spend time with. Caitlin's instruction is varied, interesting and challenging; she is knowledgeable and certified in a number of fitness specialties. She tailors sessions to my specific needs at the time and always offers good advice for physical issues I might be dealing with. I know I will benefit from her continuing education in areas of wellness. As long as Caitlin wants to teach virtually, I will be her client.

I started working out with Caitlin in her Manzanita studio in 2017. I had significant experience with Pilates from 2006-2011 and had been disappointed with any offerings since moving back to the Oregon Coast. What a revelation to find Caitlin! She knows Pilates inside and out, as well as having extensive experience in yoga practice and teaching, along with a fitness education and background. She provided specific, personalized corrections and suggestions, and using the reformer as well as floor and standing exercises, quickly brought my fitness to an incredible, new level. Visible muscles I had never seen before! She also addressed some chronic pain areas with tailored modifications so I could gain strength and help prevent further injury. My husband started working out with me at Caitlin’s studio a couple of years later, and enjoyed huge gains in his fitness and flexibility. At the onset of the pandemic, we switched to online classes with Caitlin, which have been really convenient for us ever since. There are a lot of Pilates teachers out there, but very few who really have the deep understanding and experience to make Pilates really work for you. Caitlin has experience, education, and deep understanding of this amazing exercise form.

I have been a client of Caitlin’s for nearly 9 years now. I started with her when she was primarily focusing on her work as an esthetician and was an immediate fan. Her communication, skill and execution were (and still are) terrific. Early on, I also participated in many of Caitlin’s yoga classes she offered at a local studio and found I loved her as a yoga instructor, as well. When she started offering in person Reformer Pilates, I signed up immediately. Her communication skills, knowledge of Pilates principals and willingness to modify to meet my specific needs was fantastic. Being new to the reformer did not keep me from getting excellent and thorough workouts. Caitlin adapted the curriculum to suit my skill level and gently progressed the workouts to accommodate my increasing abilities. Sadly, in-person classes were not possible when the pandemic hit. Thankfully though, Caitlin adapted and started offering online mat Pilates. Having the accountability to show up online was REALLY important during those “dark times” and it was a joy to see her friendly face a couple times each week. Her cheerfulness, encouragement AND, most importantly, expert Pilates training were integral to my mental and physical health in those long days, weeks, and months. Now that we can go back to in-person, I have chosen to stay online with Caitlin. The convenience is terrific, and the technology is easily accessible. I feel continually challenged and find each session is slightly different than the last, which keeps me on my toes and prevents boredom. As an aging, post-menopausal woman, strength, and flexibility are so important for fighting “father time.” I attribute much of my well-being to Caitlin and Pilates. I would highly recommend her services. In fact, my husband and daughter are now regular clients, as well. We all recognize the value of Pilates with Caitlin in our weekly exercise routines.

Caitlin saved my back! About six months age, age 79, I was in a yoga class and overstretched in the Superman pose. For those unfamiliar: lie on your stomach and raise arms and legs …. carefully. I was my usual over- zealous self and immediately knew I did something awful to my back. Five months later, after a steroid shot, chiropractor sessions, physical therapy and a lot of anti-inflammatories, my sister referred me to Caitlin. As a psychoanalyst, I sit at least 24 hours a week, and was fearful about maintaining my practice. Caitlin carefully assessed my mobility and strength (or lack of) and began to work with me twice per week. Beginning with gentle exercises and frequent checks with my pain levels, Caitlin has worked to strengthen my core and back, and increased my flexibility. I now walk with a straight back, have conquered 3.5-mile walks without pain, and rarely need meds. Caitlin is a delightfully warm instructor, personal and positive. She is well trained in the anatomy of the body and designs her workouts in a thoughtful and purposeful manner. In every session, Caitlin targets new muscles and adds new exercises. I am grateful for her help and have just entered my 80’s feeling strong, able to be fully present in my personal and professional life, and without pain. Caitlin, I am grateful and thankful to know you and have your help

I cannot recommend Caitlin at Oregon Coast Pilates highly enough. She has transformed my life! When I first began working with Caitlin, I was suffering from wrist, shoulder, and neck injuries, and was in a constant state of moderate pain. My shoulder had been dislocated twice and was becoming increasingly stiff and sore. It was affecting my sleep and my overall quality of life. To make matters worse, I had also recently fractured my neck and wrist in a motorcycle accident. My mobility was limited, and I was losing my motivation to stay active. I knew I needed to make a change, but I wasn't sure where to start. That's where Caitlin came in. She took the time to understand my injuries and mobility issues and created a tailored Pilates reformer program that worked wonders. Over time, I regained my strength and flexibility, and my pain decreased significantly. Now, I work out with Caitlin three times a week to maintain my flexibility and core strength. As someone in their 50s with physically demanding hobbies like firefighting, search and rescue, and waterskiing, Pilates has become an invaluable part of my training routine. If you're looking to improve your strength and flexibility, I highly recommend Caitlin at Oregon Coast Pilates. She is truly the best!
